The Role
As a Systems Analyst, you will work closely with business stakeholders, Product Managers, architects, and engineering teams to understand business objectives and translate them into high-quality technical solutions.
You will play a key role in requirements analysis, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring business needs are clearly understood and effectively implemented.
This role requires strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across distributed teams.
This role will require the successful candidate to be on our client's site in Galway, 1 week per month.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders and Product Managers to gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements
Create meaningful analysis artefacts including user stories, process flows, use cases, and business requirement documentation
Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable user stories with defined acceptance criteria
Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, and quarterly planning activities
Manage and prioritise product backlogs using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Lead refinement sessions to ensure stories are ready for development
Work with engineering and QA teams to define acceptance tests using ATDD principles
Support end-to-end testing activities and validate delivered functionality
Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement
Work closely with technical teams to understand application architecture, integrations, and data models
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Agile delivery practices across teams
Skills & Experience
2+ years’ experience in a Systems Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related discipline
Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience delivering complex technology projects
Experience working with tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Ability to analyse application data models and write SQL queries for analysis and testing purposes
Experience with analysis and testing tools such as SQL Developer, Insomnia, Kafka Offset Explorer, and Datadog
Understanding of application architecture and system integrations
Ability to read and interpret code for troubleshooting and analysis is desirable
Exposure to AI-assisted analysis tools and modern delivery practices is an advantage
Experience working with globally distributed teams is highly desirable
Financial services, investment management, or wealth management domain experience is an advantage
