About Zinkworks
Zinkworks partners with leading Telecommunications and Financial Services organizations to modernize legacy systems, migrate mission-critical platforms to the cloud, and engineer AI-driven automation. From OSS transformation to rApp development and network intelligence, our teams simplify complexity and turn it into a competitive advantage. Based in Ireland and operating across the EU, UK and US, Zinkworks combines deep domain expertise with delivery excellence to help clients modernize faster and operate smarter.
About the Role
We’re hiring Senior Platform Engineers to design, build, and scale cloud-based infrastructure that underpins a large-scale enterprise contact centre platform. This is a strongly engineering-focused role, suited to candidates who enjoy building platforms, automating infrastructure, and owning technical outcomes end-to-end.
You’ll work as part of an agile engineering team responsible for infrastructure at significant scale (2,400+ servers), with a strong emphasis on Infrastructure as Code, automation, and reliability. While the platform supports enterprise contact centre solutions, the role is firmly centred on platform engineering rather than operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain resilient Linux-based platforms supporting enterprise contact centre services
Engineer infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, including authoring and maintaining Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks
Scale and operate platforms across large environments with a focus on reliability, performance, and automation
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, and platform observability
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in high-availability environments
Collaborate within agile delivery teams, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement
Write and maintain platform documentation, operational runbooks, and engineering standards
Key Must-Haves
We are specifically looking for candidates who have:
Strong platform engineering experience (as opposed to purely support-based roles)
Hands-on experience using Terraform and Ansible to configure servers and environments
Proven experience writing and owning automation artefacts (e.g. Ansible playbooks, Terraform modules), not simply running configurations created by others
Experience working within agile engineering teams
A background in engineering-led roles involving system design, automation, and platform ownership
Nice-to-Haves
The following experience would be beneficial but is not essential:
Experience with contact centre platforms (e.g. Genesys, Amazon Connect, Avaya)
Exposure to on-call or production troubleshooting, particularly in high-availability systems
Experience working with large-scale deployments — while most candidates won’t have worked at our scale, larger environments are a plus
Some software development experience, such as writing code, reviewing pull requests, or contributing to shared codebases
Ideal Experience
5+ years in platform, cloud, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles
Strong Linux fundamentals and experience with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with AWS cloud services and monitoring/observability frameworks
Scripting or development experience (Python, Bash, etc.)
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows
