We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Engineer to design, maintain, and execute automated test suites for backend services, APIs, and selected UI workflows. This role will focus on integrating automation into GCP-based CI/CD pipelines and GKE deployments, producing milestone test reports, performing root cause and fault slippage analysis, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based automated test suites for backend systems and APIs.

• Execute targeted UI automation using Cypress for key workflows.

• Generate milestone test reports for project phases using tools such as Allure.

• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Fault Slippage Analysis (FSA) on defects to drive continuous quality improvements.

• Integrate automated tests into GCP-native CI/CD pipelines and validate deployments in GKE.

• Debug automation failures, analyse service logs, and report defects clearly.

• Mentor and support junior team members to raise the overall skill level of the team.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to refine test strategies and ensure release readiness.

Required Skills

• Strong Python automation experience (PyTest / Robot / Behave / unittest).

• Experience testing REST APIs and distributed backend systems.

• UI automation experience using Cypress.

• Proven expertise in RCA and FSA for defects.

• Experience generating milestone or release test reports (e.g., Allure).

• Familiarity with Git-based version control and debugging microservices/containerized applications.

Nice to Have

• API automation experience with Karate.

• Hands-on GCP CI/CD experience (Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, Artifact Registry).

• Kubernetes fundamentals; validating services on GKE.

• Containerization knowledge: Docker builds, pod logs, and configuration debugging.

• Performance testing (Locust, JMeter, k6).

• Monitoring/logging familiarity (Stackdriver, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).
